Strip The Shame

If you think you’ve seen a drug safety PSA like this - no you haven’t. Strip The Shame is a relatable, colorful, and honest drug safety PSA with Overdose Lifeline, an Indiana based, harm reduction nonprofit.

In just 24 hours the campaign received over 27M impressions on social media and caught the attention of A-list stars like Jamie lee Curtis, who called it “crucial,” and Shirley Manson who said it was “of vital importance.”

We provided full-service production from ideation, casting, set design, and social amplification for this groundbreaking, national PSA.

You might be wondering why this approach? This is certainly not the egg in the frying pan, fear-based campaign of the 90s. But we took 20+ years of CDC data, and community polls in areas most affected by youth overdoses, and came up with a campaign that would really speak to young recreational drug users. Something that made harm reduction tools, like Fentanyl test strips, feel fresh, fun, and dare we say - cool? Starring sober influencers Rachel Slocum and Curly Velasquez we aim to show that there is nothing shameful about safety.

Curly Velasquez

Former Buzz-feed star, host of Super Secret Bestie Podcast, and sober influencer Curly Velasquez says “It's not just the "usual suspects" at risk of accidental fentanyl overdoses—it's everyday students, coworkers, family members, and friends. It's crucial that we equip ourselves and each other with practical tools to stay safe.”

Rachel Slocum

Host of the popular sobriety podcast, Against All Odds, Rachel Slocum knows this crisis intimately. “I’ve been on both sides of addiction, and almost lost my own life to a fentanyl overdose, which is why I am a huge supporter of fentanyl test strips. Harm reduction tools like these are crucial in keeping us safe. I frequently wonder how many of my friend's lives could have been saved if test strips were free and accessible years ago. Be safe, be smart, test your stuff.”
